Dr. Sketchy's Molly Crabapple: webart/streetart/performance art/burlesque culture lovechild?

Perhaps Ms. Crabapple is onto something when she says, “What you get in life isn’t about how much you cultivate your talent; it’s about how you cultivate your name.” (NY Times)
Crabapple's "performance art"/gathering of artists with Dr. Sketchy's anti-art school and subsequent sharing of those works on sites like Twitter and Facebook feels exemplary of the ways that the web can help to maximize the possibilities for artmaking, sharing, and artist exposure.
Dr. Sketchy's does have a Boston branch which regulary hosts drawing sessions every Second Sunday at Great Scott in Allston/Brighton. Information is also posted at Truth Serum's site. I am definitely going to have to check this out...
